How to Figure Out Cubic Yards for Your Project
Step 1: Get Your Measurements

Step 2: Calculate the Volume
Multiply those three numbers together — length × width × depth — to figure out the total cubic feet of concrete needed.
Step 3: Convert to Cubic Yards
Since concrete is typically ordered in cubic yards, divide your total cubic feet by 27 (because 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet). The result is how many cubic yards you’ll need for the project.
